Let’s move on to the next step and start creating an ebook from an existing PDF file.
Step 2: Click on New eBook as shown in the above image. You’ll get a screen as shown below. Click on the format and then click on PDF.
Step 3: Now, click on select and you will get some additional options as shown below.
- Upload file/Insert link
- From existing doc
- Use wordgenie
- Start writing
- Choose a template
Choose the option – Upload file / Insert link. See the below screenshot.
Next, click on the option – Import from PDF.
Step 4: Now, you need to add the PDF file you want to convert into an ebook. You can either drag and drop your PDF file in the area as marked in the below screenshot or you can click on browse and select your file from your computer.
Below, you can see that I have added a PDF file for ebook conversion. Depending on the number of pages and images, it may take a few minutes to add the file. After adding the file, click on the Apply button.
Next, you will be asked to select a theme for your ebook. In the below screenshot, you can see some examples of the theme – Education, Health & wellness, Business, Self Development, etc.
Finally, click on the button – Let’s start. It will take you to the templates page where you will be required to select an ebook template of your choice.
Step 5: From the given templates, choose the one that you find related to your ebook niche or topic.
As you click on a template, a popup window will open as shown below. If you want, you can preview the templates too. To preview a template, click on any of these options – Preview in web or Preview in PDF. Finally, click on the button – Use this template.
After selecting a template (see the below screenshot), you’ll be taken to the Designrr Editor (see below) where you will get access to features to edit the design of the ebook.
Let’s have a look at the Designrr Editor interface and how to use them:
- The left side of the editor contains features like Elements, Text, Images, Artwork & Shapes, Layouts, Templates, and more. Using these features you can add, edit, or delete any elements of your ebook. For example, text, images, links, background, page number, columns, table of contents, and more. You can even add or delete pages of your ebook.
- The center of the editor contains your ebook. The changes you make using the tools available on the left of the editor can be seen on the ebook at the center.
- The right side of the editor contains the Navigator. Using this option, you can navigate from one page to another with ease.
One feature that I particularly like in the Designrr editor is the Autosave option. It automatically saves your work, so, you don’t have to save manually.
Step 6: After you have finished editing your ebook, you can preview it on full screen using the preview (eye) button located at the bottom left of the screen. During the preview, if you feel the ebook is ready to be downloaded, you can do it by selecting the Publish button (see the below image).
After you hit the Publish button, you will get a screen like this:
Now, depending on the plan you have subscribed to, you will get access to the publishing formats. I mean that if you are on the Standard plan, then you can download the ebooks as PDF and Flipbooks. However, if you are on a higher tier plan like Pro or Premium, you can export your ebooks in additional formats like Kindle, audiobooks, EPUB, and Live ebook.
After saving the ebook to your computer, you can now share it with your readers on your blog, social media, and emails. If you have checked the Designrr bonuses, you might have seen that you also get a commercial license to sell your ebook on marketplaces like Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Payhip, or Sellfy.
That’s it, by following the six easy steps, you can easily convert a PDF into an ebook.
